PC Commissioners Meeting Schedule The Preble County Commissioners meet every Monday and Wednesday (except for Holidays) at 9 a.m. in the Commission Chambers. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. Our office is located on the first floor of the Preble County Courthouse at 101 East Main St., Eaton. To join in our ongoing effort to make Preble County a better place, log onto our online forum: The Voice - http://www.preblevoice.com Child Well-Health Checks Offered Second and fourth Tuesdays - The Preble County General Health District offers well child health checks for children up to 6 years of age. The medical team includes pediatrician, certified pediatric nurse practitioner, registered nurses, and a speech and hearing specialist. Appointments are available on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 8:45-10:30 a.m. To schedule an appointment, call 472-0087, Ext. 226. Immunization Clinic Information Mondays - The Preble County General Health District offers immunizations for all ages, not just for babies. Clinics are held on Mondays (except holidays) from 9-11 a.m. and 3-5 p.m. No appointment is needed. Find out what you may be missing by calling 472-0087, Ext. 226. Al-Anon Meetings Those attending should enter on the east side of the building. The meeting is held downstairs; pass the AA meeting and go through the kitchen. For more information, call 456-6694. |

Preble County is situated in the southwest portion of Ohio. The county seat is located in the city of Eaton. Preble County had it's early beginnings in 1798 when a handful of settlers moved into the area. Preble was later established as a county in March of 1808. In addition to the city of Eaton, there are several villages located in the county: Camden, College Corner, Eldorado, Gratis, Lewisburg, New Paris, Verona, West Alexandria, West Elkton, and West Manchester, and there are a dozen townships: Dixon, Gasper, Gratis, Harrison, Israel, Jackson, Jefferson, Lanier, Monroe, Somers, Twin and Washington. There are several major roadways including 1-70, U.S. 127, U.S. 35, U.S. 40, and ten state routes. The county has 18 public schools in the county's five school districts, which provide primary and secondary education to close to 8000 school-aged children. There are several colleges and universities located nearby including Miami University, Wright State University, Earlham College, University of Dayton, Indiana University East, and Sinclair Community College, to name a few. Nearly three quarters of Preble County is farmland. The county consistently ranks in the top ten in hog and corn production for the state of Ohio. Most of the county's communities remain small, with a genuine feel of hometown America. |
